Getting Back into Meal Planning

The last few months I haven’t done much meal planning because we started eating mostly from the farmer’s market and I was trying to cook with whatever was available and not follow recipes. There were a couple of losers, but overall we had some delicious food including lots of soups, lasagnas and chilies. Since we just started eating locally in 2010 we didn’t have any stores of last summer’s plenty so we used what was available at the farmer’s market: onions, carrots, potatoes, apples, turkey and mushrooms. Now that there is a lot more variety, I think meal planning is going to be necessary again. Last week I had to toss a few things that went bad and I hate doing that. This week we found a lot of great produce at the farmer’s market and also got some local greenhouse tomatoes and local sweet potato chips. I’m using Wendy’s 3 Column Method for planning. Here’s what I’ve come up with:

Since this is a new blog I haven’t posted many recipes yet. If you want me to post any of the recipes, please comment and I will post it as soon as I can!
